ABOUT UPTC
Unexplored Places Theatre Company is born from our passion for open-air theatre and our absolute wonder at the beautiful outdoor spaces which can be found nestling within and exposed throughout the North Devon landscape.
We love working with up-coming writers, actors, directors, choreographers and dramaturgs and championing the voices of women. This year, so far, we have collaborated on a Spoken-Word / Performance Poetry evening and Nayomie has directed a new short dance film, Reborn, collaborating with Louise Butcher, the topless runner, and choreographer Sarah Grant of SwitchFrame Scenic Dance.
Nayomie is also performing at the Big Sheep Country Music Festivals, working with Pleasure Dome Theatre Co on their summer production and writing a play for the Landmark Theatres Trust Seed Commission Programme
SPOKEN WORD POETRY
Entitled KIND Voices and ollaborating with StudioKIND, a magical gallery space in North Devon, Nayomie compèred an even of poetry, stories, spoken word drama. Performing a selection of her own work for this sold out show, the first of its kind at StuidioKIND, hopes are high for this to become a regular event in Barnstaple.
Nayomie will be joining SwitchFrame's amazing troupe of dancers again, to perform at various events this year, as well as assisting on the production and choreography side of The Big Sheep Country Music Festival performances!
